The Indian Craft Collective plans to use a bottom-up learning-based approach targeted towards the skilling industry. This means that artisans and workers in the crafts sector will be taught relevant skills starting from the fundamentals and gradually moving towards more complex topics. This will ensure that comprehensive learning is taking place to allow the workers to eventually be proficient in the skills being taught.
Immersive workshops will be conducted in which artisans can use specific skill sets. A survey administered to identify skills that employers look out for will inform the content of these workshops. A teaching program will be conducted to expose students to India’s diverse crafts heritage. Workshops will be conducted on warli painting, block printing, rangoli, and paper quilling. These initiatives will help empower the artisans and create awareness of their craft.
